WP Admin Cleaner – Problem with Hide per Role

Publish date: 09/29/2024 •  Bug • Wp-admin-cleaner •  Lukasz Adamczyk

Hi there,

I hope you are doing well.

Today I bought WP Admin Cleaner and I noticed some problems.

In the “Hide per Role” section I selected “Administrator” role and in “Left Bar” I selected all items except FluentCommunity. I had to do it, because Administrators of the FluentCommunity plugin have to be WordPress Administrators, but I don’t want them to manage WordPress or have access to any WP settings.

It worked perfectly for all Administrators – they had access only to FluentCommunity without access to WordPress backend. Of course as a Super Admin (alta-comm) I had full access to the WordPress backend. Great, it was something I really needed.

In the next step I used the “WP Admin login page”. I set “Half Screen Image” for “Layout Options”, custom colors for “Button”, custom “Logo” in “Logo Section” and custom “Background Image” in “Page” section. At this stage all worked fine – I saw changes on WP Admin login page and the Hide per Role settings for Administrator works perfectly.

But… I didn’t like the “Background Image” so I decided to remove it from the WP Admin login page by erasing the URL in the field Background Image in the “Page” section.

After this, unfortunately, the layout of WP Admin login page broke down (see attachment) and also all “Hide per Role” settings for Administrators stopped working (now they have access to all WP settings). I checked it with a few administrator accounts, I tried to make changes in “Hide per Role” and to set up the image again – no effects for “Hide per Role” (only for layout of WP Admin login).

Could you check it for me? Thanks.

Best,

Lukasz

The login details you provided are not working for super admin, didn’t tried and need to use standard admins for now.

Kindly edit the ticket and correct the details for super admin, the standard admin login is working fine. I’ve added just random thing in the Background image url (two quotes ‘ ‘ ) so that it is not empty and the login page is now good, kindly check if the HIDE things is working fine now or not.

    Hi Mohammad,
Thanks for your message. I checked the super-admin password and it works fine.
I edited login and password data for super-admin to look more clear. I’m sorry for the confusion.

And I have just checked the “HIDE things” for all standard admin accounts and for all of them everything is fine. After log in as a standard admin I have access only to Fluent Support, without possibility to access any WP settings. Great! So, as I suspected, it had to be a problem with the customization of login page by  WP Admin Cleaner.

Could you provide me some information about your solution? Was it a software bug or a problem with settings?

Once again, thank you for your help!

    Best,
    Lukasz

If you select any of pre-defined format like Half screen image, you need to have an IMAGE selected for the background, otherwise there will be issue, and can break other things as well.

I’ve just input a not-an-url image input like ( two single quotes ‘ ‘ ) and it is not empty, so it can be there,

If you want to customize it yourself, just create a blank image and put it there, otherwise select other pre-defined format.
